On The Fly Outfitters is
located in scenic Talkeetna, Alaska (120mi north of
Anchorage, 124mi south of Denali National Park).
The town of Talkeetna, meaning river of plenty, is
located at the confluence of 3 rivers; the Susitna,
Talkeetna, and Chulitna. Every year thousands
of salmon return to these rivers to spawn.
King Salmon arrive in early June and are available
through July 13th. The Kings are followed by
the Silver Salmon, Pink Salmon, Red Salmon, and the
Chum Salmon, which are available through the end of
August. All three rivers offer anglers excellent
chances to catch King (Chinook), Silver (Coho), Red
(Sockeye) Chum (Dog) and Pink (Humpy) Salmon.
The river system and its tributaries are also home
to a large amount of Rainbow Trout, Dolly Varden,
and Arctic Grayling. Trout are available from
mid May until the river freezes up in late October.
The Talkeetna and Susitna river systems boast miles
of unspoiled trout habitat. |
